MoMA, New York

MoMA has an extensive collection of paintings, sculptures and art installations from 1880s until today. A few hours at MoMA can only scratch the surface of its large collection. Here are some examples, in no particular order, from the 5th floor:

Henri Matisse, Dance (I), 1909

Henri Rousseau, The Dream, 1910

Umberto Boccioni, Dynamism of a Soccer Player, 1913

Pablo Picasso, Three Musicians, 1921

Joan Miró, The Birth of the World, 1925

Tarsila do Amaral, The Moon, 1928

Salvador Dalí, The Persistence of Memory, 1931

Jackson Pollock, One: Number 31, 1950

Here is a more contemporary piece from the 2dn floor:

Richard Serra, Equal, 2015

Until January 4, 2010 MoMA has a special exhibit titled The Legends of Black Girl’s Window featuring the work of Betye Saar, a visual artist whose work is inspired by phrenology, astrology, mysticism and the occult.
